I'm fairly anti rice cereal, or any other store bought baby cereals that I've come across so far, because of all the extra ingredients they put in that stuff. Yuck!
And for the same reason, I'm also anti most of the dissolving puff snacks and teething biscuits. It wasn't a problem with Punkin Pie (from what I can remember), but The Bean seems to really want something more than her blended foods. I know she's working on a couple of teeth, so I thought I'd see what recipes I could find online.
I stumbled across the momtastics wholesomebabyfood site and found lots of recipes. Most used some form of baby cereal as a base, but one of them used fresh bananas and regular ingredients I already had on hand, so I decided to give it a try.
I had a 'helper' so it took longer than I had hoped, but really easy.
Baking took forever, but I suppose that only makes sense. It needs to be a hard biscuit when finished.
Once it's baked for an hour, you take it out, cut into sticks, lay out on a cookie sheet and bake for another hour. Punkin Pie was so anxious to see the product of our mixing it nearly killed her to wait so long, but they'll be done soon!
Once they cool we will have to see what The Bean thinks. I'm betting she'll be in heaven.

UPDATE - The Bean adores the teething biscuits, and really likes something she can hold on to! Success! I took a couple of pictures of her enjoying her new snacks and I'll post them in a few!
