Several years ago I was experimenting with pancake recipes, and my favorite exploration used whole blueberries and crushed blackberries along with cinnamon and allspice. I'm not positive what drove me to that particular combination but it worked! My girls still call them moms famous pancakes! Lol!
So for this muffin I decided to take the best parts of my pancakes and add them to a basic muffin recipe. The key is crushing the blackberries to give the batter an even berry flavor and then the pops of the fresh blueberries.

A quick dusting of powdered sugar on the still warm muffins and I was finished! They're pretty and they taste just like my pancakes! Yum!!
